How to receive donations on Twitch

Twitch offers Bits and subscriptions, but no button to donate euros directly to a streamer. That is why most streamers add an external donation link. Here is how to set it up properly with DonoLink, from link to on-screen alert.

Bits, subscriptions and direct donations

Bits and subscriptions run through Twitch, which keeps a share and pays out on its schedule. A direct donation runs through your own page: the viewer chooses the amount and the payment is created on your connected Stripe account. The two complement each other.

Where to place your link on Twitch

Make it easy to find:

A "Donate" panel below the player with a clear image.
A chat command such as !donate that replies with your link.
A QR code in a corner of your scene for viewers on TV or console.
Your title or welcome message when you have a special goal.

Show donations on screen
