Donation platforms for streamers compared
The right donation tool depends on your community, your payment methods and what you want to show on screen. This comparison covers what really matters: who collects the payment, which fees apply, what the viewer sees and what happens in OBS. It is written by DonoLink and based on each service's public information.

- Test the donation page on your phone, as a viewer would.
- Send a test alert to your real OBS scene before you decide.
TipeeeStream
Widely used by French-speaking streamers. Its fees vary by payment method and donor country; TipeeeStream publishes an official calculator. Alerts and overlays are built in. DonoLink imports TipeeeStream history if you switch.
Streamlabs and StreamElements
Streamlabs says it takes no fee of its own on tips; the payment provider charges its fees. Streamlabs Desktop is also broadcasting software, which is different from a donation page.
StreamElements continues under Razer, but SEPay, its payment service for tips, is being phased out according to the information published with the acquisition. Tips move to a different route in 2027.
Ko-fi
Ko-fi is a general creator support platform with a shop and memberships. According to Ko-fi, new accounts start with Contributor status, which applies a 5% service fee on one-off donations; this status can be turned off. Payment provider fees are separate.
DonoLink
DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful donation, with no subscription. The payment is created directly on your connected Stripe account, and Stripe separately charges its processing fees. Viewers pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The viewer can cover the displayed DonoLink fee.
Alerts by amount, text-to-speech, goal, recent donations, leaderboard and media requests are included, with a wizard that installs the sources in OBS.

Frequently asked questions
Which donation platform is cheapest?
It depends on the amount, the payment method and the donor's country. Compare the net amount on a typical donation. With DonoLink: 3.5% per successful donation, plus Stripe fees charged separately to the creator.
Why avoid PayPal for donations?
Many streamers worry about chargebacks and frozen accounts. It is not automatic, but a card payment through Stripe on your own account is often easier to follow.
Can I switch platforms without losing data?
Yes. DonoLink imports history from TipeeeStream, Streamlabs, StreamElements, Ko-fi and CSV files. The import does not transfer pending balances.
