At a glance
- Without a PC: Lightstream Studio with a custom alert URL.
- With a PC: a capture card and OBS Studio.
- The same donation link for viewers, on Twitch or YouTube.
- Alerts, goal and recent donations as URL overlays.
Streaming straight from a console is easy, but the built-in broadcast does not show external donation alerts. There are two solutions: a cloud studio such as Lightstream, which accepts overlays by URL, or a capture card with OBS on a PC. Either way, your DonoLink donation link stays the same.
PS5 and Xbox built-in broadcasting sends the game picture to Twitch or YouTube, but it does not add external sources such as a donation alert. The donation link still works, but nothing shows on screen. You need an intermediate step that composes the picture.
Lightstream receives your console stream and adds overlays in the cloud. According to its documentation, it accepts alerts and overlays by custom URL. Paste your DonoLink alert URL and check the result in a real broadcast. Follow Lightstream's official guide to set up your console.
Connect the console's HDMI output to a capture card, add it as a source in OBS and add DonoLink alerts as a browser source. You keep full control over the scene, audio and overlays. Disable HDCP in the PS5 settings so the signal can be captured.
Add the link to your Twitch panels or YouTube description, and a chat command such as !donate. A QR code in your scene helps viewers on mobile.
Not with the built-in broadcast alone. Use a cloud studio such as Lightstream, or a capture card with OBS.
Yes. Viewers can donate even if no alert shows, and you see every donation in your dashboard.
The account and alerts are free. DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful donation; Stripe separately charges its fees to the creator.
