How to make money on TikTok: gifts, Creator Rewards and donations

TikTok offers several ways to make money, but almost all of them run through its own systems, with their own requirements and conversion. This guide explains each source, the thresholds to know and why a donation link is still useful next to gifts.

Start making money on TikTok

  1. Create a free donation page.
  2. Put the link in your bio or mention it in your LIVEs and videos.
  3. If you stream through OBS or TikTok LIVE Studio, add a donation alert.
  4. Check Creator Tools to see which TikTok programs are open to you.

LIVE gifts and diamonds

During a LIVE, viewers buy coins and send gifts. You receive diamonds that TikTok converts to money under its own rules, after keeping a significant share. What the viewer pays is never what you receive. In DonoLink, a TikTok gift stays a stream event and never counts as a donation.

Creator Rewards and LIVE subscriptions

Creator Rewards pays for views on videos of at least one minute. TikTok requires, among other things, an age of 18, 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last 30 days and a personal account in good standing; availability depends on the country. LIVE subscriptions give viewers badges and exclusive content, with their own requirements. Check Creator Tools to see what is open to you.

Direct donations through your link

A donation link works outside TikTok: viewers choose an amount in euros on your DonoLink page. Your community can donate with Bizum when it is activated for your account. You can also offer cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay where available. DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful donation; Stripe charges its costs separately. Put the link in your bio if your account can show one, or mention it during your LIVE.

Brand deals, TikTok Shop and your net income

Brands pay for videos or mentions, and TikTok Shop pays a commission on products. Track gross and net for each source every month: TikTok pays gifts and Creator Rewards, donations arrive through Stripe, and this income is usually taxable.
