Receiving donations on stream means receiving money, and the tax question comes up quickly. This guide summarises the general principles for streamers in Spain and links to official sources. It is not personal advice: your exact situation depends on your activity and income.

- Add up your streaming income by source.

- Ask a professional if your situation is complex.
Is a viewer donation income?
In most cases, yes. Donations received as part of a streaming activity are a return for content you provide, and the tax authorities in Spain generally treat them as income. Platforms and payment providers may also report amounts received to tax authorities.
Do you need to be self-employed?
An occasional activity and a regular one are not treated the same way. If streaming is a regular activity with steady income, it usually means registering with the tax agency and the social security system as self-employed (autónomo) and declaring that income in your personal income tax (IRPF). Contributions, brackets and obligations change, so check them every year with official sources.
What to keep track of
To file with confidence:
- The gross amount and date of each donation.
- DonoLink fees (3.5%) and Stripe fees.
- Payouts received in your bank account.
- Your other streaming income: subscriptions, Bits, sponsors.
What DonoLink gives you
Your dashboard lists each donation with its amount, fees and net. The Transactions tab brings together your donations and invoices for DonoLink fees, and your bank payouts appear in Stripe. These documents make filing and your accountant's work easier.
